In-STEP STORY
Left..left.. left.right.left.right.left.right.left. Ready….halt.
For the past years, this is what we know of keeping instep in our organization, the AFP, until one day, when an intelligent idea came out of the mind of our now Commanding General, LT GEN OSCAR H RABENA AFP to make this term not just a cadence in marching but a way of life to keep all members of the PAF in moral alignment and make the Air Force operationally responsive to peace and development.
Literally, keeping instep is marching together in rhythm, in cadence. Nevertheless, with the PAF Core Values of Integrity, Service, Teamwork, Excellence and Professionalism we are being guided to march together in rhythm towards one direction, one goal, one mission, one vision.
Major Danilo Atienza Air Base Hospital is steered by the mission of providing health care and medical services and rendering aero medical services to the personnel of the Wing and their dependents and this is extending even beyond the neighboring barangays within Cavite.

Attending to patients is the main responsibility of our unit but not withstanding in maintaining the physical and mental health of the wing in particular. As such, we cater to the needs of our patients with utmost care and understanding. We value every single life thus our personnel see to it that through discipline, dedication, and loyalty they shall be well taken care of. Years of unstained integrity are a proof of this.
Being in a medical treatment facility is not an easy task. But that’s how it should be, because the moment we entered the service that’s our oath. “A life of service over pleasure”, “foregoing the freedom of civilian life”, “dislocate normal lives”. However, more often than not, there is a misconception that if there are no patient, medical service personnel has no work. This is definitely wrong, MDAABH never ceases, from in-patients to out-patients, from seminars to lectures, from formations to parades, from treatment to evacuation and from office works to civic actions.
This is what we’re good at and this is our purpose, “To serve those who serve”. |

Behind the entire unit’s accomplishment is the essence of helping hands, working together in harmony. “Two heads are better than one”, the saying goes. But this cannot be done or cannot be achieved in one day. Everything involves effort and sacrifices, coordination and commitment to duty. As such, MDAABH ably came up with the work ethics necessary to attain a task ordinary or tough that is called Teamwork.
In the Medical Service, we cater for the lives of our patient, thus, there should be no room for mistake. From time to time, MDAABH personnel are being given review exercises, lectures and a chance to attend seminars on new innovations in medical technology. As much as possible, despite the limited resources, MDAABH strives to bring the highest quality in every undertaking. In fact, aside from our primary duty of patient care, the unit does extremely well in other categories, such as unit cleanliness in barracks and in surroundings, other sports such as table tennis and badminton and in career and specialized schoolings.
This just shows that MDAABH is exerting all the necessary effort to serve with Excellence. Amidst the test of the past and the challenges of the future, MDAABH continues to execute its mandated task without bias and prejudice. With appropriate training and indoctrination, patients must be confident enough that they shall be treated with humility and proper care. MDAABH takes oath to provide better services in adherence to the principle of Professionalism.
Every now and then, there will be changes and transformations, lest we are ready to Keep INSTEP and align with the requirements especially for the good of the service.
