SERVICE
Control tower section is one of the main services of 596th Aerodrome Operation Squadron.
This section is tasked to control and supervise all aircraft-related operations within Sangley Aerodrome. Organic and transient aircraft originating from 15th Strike Wing base are required to file respective flight clearances with the Base Operations Section whether local or cross-country, rigidly imposing the Wing’s policy of NO CLEARANCE, NO FLIGHT. SOP’s on cargo and passengers boarding an aircraft is strictly enforced to ensure safety of flight. Passengers are required to check-in at the base operations an hour before the scheduled flight for accounting and baggage checking. All aircraft within the circuit are always provided with current weather advisory and a/c recall is done when weather deteriorates. The aerodrome also serves as alternate landing field for light civilian aircraft who are not allowed to enter Manila Aerodrome.
Ground communication and firefighting service are always maintained on twenty-four hour. This is to avoid interruption of a very crucial service to vital offices of the Wing. This unit also supports night flying operations by providing efficient portable runway lights thus ensuring safety of pilots.
TEAM WORK

This unit embarked on enhancing the capability of this section to respond to emergency situations and adopting measures that would put our equipment and personnel on the highest state of readiness at all times. Through cooperation and team work of 596th AOS personnel alongside proper training, effective and efficient responding to these situations has been made.
PROFESSIONALISM

596th AOS conducts basic fireman seminar for all unit to give knowledge about the nature of fire and awareness in case of incident to avoid boost of fire and minimize the damage. The instructor of this seminar contains appropriate training, knowledge and experience that impart to all trainee or student.
