In-STEP: TEAMWORK

The strength of an organization is determined by the capability of its weakest member. This is a striking statement being observed by the unit. We consider every individual as a main ingredient to achieve our mission. 593rd Engineering Squadron has been one of the reliable support units of 15th Strike wing. Limited personnel couldn’t even hamper us to perform the voluminous service calls and Wing projects. This is because of our commitment to perform our mandated tasks and duties as members of the Dynamic Engineering Squadron. Our accomplishments would not have been possible if not because of the collective effort of every personnel. Our squadron has three (3) utility service branches. It is composed of the Electrical section, Air-conditioning section, and Plumbing section. These sections work hand-in-hand together with the Construction and Maintenance branch composed of the electrical and welding section.
We can proudly say that with the minimal human resource and limited equipment we still manage to perform what is being expected of us. This is all attributed to one of the PAF Core Values that we exercise in our unit, TEAMWORK. One clear example of this is when a request from other units such as repair and construction is relayed to us. We send our Estimator to conduct inspection for us to have an overview of what we are suppose to do. Then the admin section encodes the BOME/RIV for the procurement of the needed materials and equipment. When supplies arrive, the Supply section inspects the quality and the completeness of the materials delivered. The project immediately commences as soon as the materials are available, as the necessary skills for project has already been determined. The assigned personnel then proceed to designated area and perform his task/duty.
Every personnel in our unit have to perform his part in every project as it contributes to the possibility of accomplishing a project or service call on-time and with quality. It has been observed though that most of the personnel need to be versatile to perform multiple roles as deemed necessary especially with the limited number of personnel. They urge themselves to learn other skills from the other sections to fill-up the needed service of personnel in case of his absence. All of these manifestations indicate how we value every individual’s effort to produce a more convenient working environment.
The most recent project that the Dynamic Engineering was involved and still continuously participates is the wood tiling at 15th Strike Wing Fitness Gym. We have a rotation of personnel assigned to augment the activity so that other services needed from our unit would not be overlooked. Every project accomplished could not be attributed to the commander alone, but to the whole unit, and every accomplishment would be far from reality if not to the drive of every member of 593rd Engineering Squadron towards excellence and professionalism.
Rest-assured we believe in the saying “People forget how fast you did a job, but they remember how well you did it”, so we promise not to produce accomplishments with quantity alone but with quality as well.
