MISSION

To provide in-house capability for construction, rehabilitation, and corrective maintenance of the base facilities to include disaster control, base development, and environmental projects.

FUNCTIONS

Plan, construct and maintain real properties for Sangley Air Base such as buildings, grounds,           pavements and other structures.

Provide utility services such as water supply, electrical power and air conditioning, sanitation,           (sewerage drainage) termites and pest control.

Provides and trains alert teams of disaster control/base recovery on damage by enemy forces or           natural calamities.

Prepares necessary materials requirement for construction and or repair utility projects.

Performs organizational maintenance on organic or assigned ground powered equipment.

Implements base development and environmental projects.

Performs other function as directed by higher headquarters.

Historical Background

          The 593rd Engineering Squadron is former Civil Engineering Branch. of 592nd Air Base Squadron. It was designated unit upon reactivation of 590 th Air Base Group effective 21 November 1989 pursuant to GO# 100 H15SW dtd 20 Nov 98. This unit was named Service Support Squadron for CY 90 pursuant to GO# 101 dtd 16 Nov 90 .
