592nd ABS as a Team… (Teamwork)

 

              According to Henry Ford, “Coming together is a beginning, keeping together is progress, and working together is success”.             

              The 592nd Air Base Squadron is task mainly with housekeeping function. It is the unit of the 15th Strike Wing whose area of responsibility (AOR) coincides with that of the Major Danilo Atienza Air Base (MDAAB), which has a total of 86.88 hectares military land area and caters the needs of a total 238 Organic Officers, 722 Enlisted Personnel and 68 Civilian Employees.         

             

               In response to the growing needs and heavy workloads, the squadron seeks the help of other units of the wing during fatigue duties and clean-up drives. Recently, the combined efforts of the personnel of 592nd ABS and personnel from other units, through the supervision of LTCOL JOEL T REBULLAR PAF, transformed Dose Palmas Beach Resort into a cleaner and fresher area. Additionally, the participation of personnel from other units immensely contributed to the mission accomplishment of the squadron.            

 

Through its mandated task of providing base services to organic and tenant units and with support from other units of the wing, the 592nd Air Base Squadron has efficiently and effectively accomplished various activities. Thus, promoting a strong sense of camaraderie within the 15th Strike Wing.

 

Dedication… (Service)

 

         The 592nd Air Base Squadron had always been known as the resilient force of the 15th Strike Wing. Through its mandated task, the unit has efficiently and effectively managed its available resources to accomplish various activities held by the wing and civilian sectors. The attitude of the dynamic personnel who serve with passion and zeal made the unit’s program of activities attained excellently.

             

        On several occasions, through its able band members had participated in numerous wing, HPAF, and civic parades. Aside from these, a number of interment activities were also performed. Cleanliness around the base is maintained through regular grass cutting and garbage collections by the personnel f the unit, utilizing both the unit’s tractor, dump truck and bush cutters. Aside from these activities, the unit was maintaining other base facilities such as the TMOQ which provide shelter to married junior officers, the BOQ for unmarried officers, the transient quarters (TQ), the Tora-Tora Country Club (TTC) and the Dose Palmas Beach Resort.

              The 592nd Air Base Squadron experienced constraints that seemed to weigh down the performance of the squadron. Despite this, the squadron endured and continued to perform above par and beyond expectations.

 

Hard Work… (Excellence)

              It is believed that awards increase self-esteem and confidence of each individual. For this, the squadron intends to bring pride to the personnel by boosting-up competence in their work. Thus, various awards were given to all deserving personnel who were instrumental in the overall accomplishment of the wing’s mission.

 

              For the period in consideration, military personnel of the unit were given different kinds of awards by Headquarters 15th Strike Wing for their meritorious achievements and valuable services rendered. Two (2) Enlisted Personnel and One (1) civilian employee were given plaque of recognition by the Wing Commander 15th Strike Wing for being adjudged as 592nd Air Base Squadron NCO/Airman and Civilian Employee for CY 2010. Likewise, personnel of the unit received letters of commendation by the former squadron commander, 592nd ABS.

              Due to the squadron’s quest of excellence, personnel were sent to attend various trainings and seminars offered by the wing. This is to ensure that 592nd Air Base Squadron personnel remain competitive on their professional development.
