MISSION

          To establish, operate and maintain aerodrome and base facilities and provide essential aerodrome and base wide services to all unit of 15th strike wing.

FUNCTIONS

Formulate plans and policies on base defense and base           development.
Provide and maintain base facilities and base services to organic           and tenant units.
Provide and maintain ground transportation of the Wing.
          Provide security of the base installation, equipment and material in support of the base defense plan.
         Provide aerodrome services and ground communication to          Major Danilo S Atienza Air Base.
Perform other functions as the Wing Commander may direct.

UNIT HISTORY

          The Directorate for Base Services (DBS) a coordinating staff to the Wing Commander of 240 th Composite Wing was the forerunner of the 590 th Air Base Group. On 21 November 1989, DBS, 240 th CW, PAF was deactivated and subsequently integrated to 15 th Strike Wing pursuant to General Order Nr 100 H15 th SW dated 20 November 1989.I 25 April 1990, DBS was activated and renamed 590 th Air Base Group, under the command and control of l5th Strike Wing, PAF pursuant to General Order Nr 140 dated 04 May 1990. The broad and varied essential base mission of the 590th ABG is being developed to five (5) Squadrons placed under its supervision. The 592 nd Air Base Squadron – is task to operate and maintain base facilities and provide base services to organic and tenants units.The 593 rd Engineering Squadron – is task to, provide in-house capability for constructions, rehabilitation and corrective maintenance of the base facilities to include disaster control, base development and environmental projects. The 594 th Air Police Squadron – is task to enforce and maintain military conduct and discipline to all PAF Personnel and to provide security of Air Base installation and equipment. The 595 th Motor Vehicle Squadron – is task to provide and maintain motor transportation and support of the Wing Mission. The 596 th Aerodrome Squadron – is task to provide aerodrome services and ground communication to Major Danilo S Atienza Air Base.
