The 461st FIELD MAINTENANCE SQUADRON is the nerve center of the 460th Maintenance and Supply Group in terms of maintaining and restoring the airworthiness of our air assets. ” It works hand in hand with the Tactical Squadron in the overall upkeep of the Wing’s air assets. It employs the unit of highly skilled individuals trained in the maintenance of the various aircraft of the Wing: the OV-10A/C, SF-260TP and MD-520MG. Through the collective effort, skills and dedication to duty of our personnel, the Squadron soared to a greater height of teamwork and professionalism.
As one of its primary task, the Squadron recovered most of the aircraft giving rejuvenation to the Wing’s goal to conduct prompt and sustained tactical air support to ground forces. These noble tasking became an inspiration to all personnel of the Squadron bearing in mind the greater accomplishment waiting ahead. Through the untiring effort and dedication of its officers and men, the 461st FMS keep on continuing the high operational rate and airworthiness of our aircraft regardless of limited resources just to accomplish its mandated mission.
